Waypoint Analytical is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nutrien, LTD. The Precision.Ag and Soil Biome Sales Representative drives revenue growth and market expansion within an assigned territory. This is a hunter-focused role centered on building pipeline, acquiring new customers, and positioning the company as a leader in soil biology testing. The role is fast-paced—especially during sampling season—and requires consistent, clear communication with customers, prospects, and internal teams. Strong time management, organization, and comfort with mobile technology (smartphones, tablets, GPS, email, Excel/Google Sheets) are essential.What You'll Do: This position involves 40–50% travel for field visits, partnership development, industry events, and closing new business.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively in region and occasionally throughout the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience in agriculture, science, environmental services, or technical solutions preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, biology, environmental science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of new business development and closing.
  • Experience managing complex or consultative sales cycles.
  • Experience selling technical, scientific, or data-driven services preferred.
  • Knowledge of soil biology, agronomy, lab testing, or precision agriculture preferred.
  • Experience building a territory or book of business from the ground up preferred.
  • CCA or P.Ag. accreditation (asset, not required).

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate new business through cold outreach, referrals, events, partnerships, and targeted account campaigns.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline with disciplined CRM usage.
  • Win new customers across agriculture, environmental, and research markets.
  • Develop strong expertise in soil biology testing, DNA analysis services, and their agronomic and business value.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals in person and virtually.
  • Lead complex sales cycles including discovery, solution design, pricing, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing, territory strategy, and growth priorities.
  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
  • Expand strategic accounts through cross-sell and upsell, with primary focus on net-new growth.
  • Build relationships with executive and decision-maker stakeholders.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, sharing market feedback with product and marketing teams.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, field days, and industry events.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Own quota attainment and regional growth KPIs.
  • Deliver a professional, high-trust customer experience from first engagement through long-term partnership.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and travel regularly within the region.
  • Travel to trade shows and lead occasional sales training across the United States.
