About The Position

The Sanitation Team Lead Trainee will be trained to lead a team of 5-10, providing first-line support for problem-solving, quality assurance, and basic preventive maintenance. They assist team members by knowing all job tasks, filling in as needed, and helping those falling behind. Trainees learn to address issues like absences and supply ordering, lead activities, and use audit sheets to ensure adherence to standards. They are responsible for learning the leadership role on the manufacturing and filling/packaging floor, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production meetings all FDA, GMP, ISO, OSHA, contract customer, and SA CDMO procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required proficient conversational English
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine issues with clearly defined parameters.
  • Can perform basic arithmetic and follows detailed instructions (written or oral).
  • Basic computer skills needed

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in all team tasks, capable of performing, training, and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Ensures adherence to Standardized Work, quickly identifies abnormalities, and implements permanent solutions.
  • Develops expertise in evaluating manufacturing equipment for safety, compliance, and functionality
  • Gains proficiency in communicating downtime delays to appropriate department supervisors and communicates with technical services when necessary for equipment issues or facility events.
  • Develops expertise in the review of Cleaning Logbooks, ensuring proper documentation, signatures, dates, and cleaning tag application.
  • Will print new log sheets and labels; provide necessary sanitation supplies; and maintain the cleanliness and organization of Sanitation department tool storage boxes.
  • Begins each shift by inspecting stations to ensure team members have the necessary tools and ends each shift by ensuring all stations and sanitation equipment are safely stored.
  • Communicates any relevant events or issues from the first shift to the second shift to ensure their success.
  • Develops expertise in the wastewater treatment process, mentoring team members in that area and monitoring their task completion.
  • Motivates team members to improve equipment and facility cleanliness while maintaining high cleaning and sanitizing standards for all assigned tasks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
