Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to clean areas on production machines.
  • Capability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Dedication to maintaining Utz’s commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to comfortably wear and work with various forms of PPE.
  • A strong team player who can also work independently to meet production goals.
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Familiar with working in a USDA regulated facility 
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a USDA-regulated facility is a plus but not required.
  • HACCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all packaging, processing, auxiliary plant item cleanup, and production cycle-ending cleanup activities to maintain, clean, and safeguard equipment and facilities.   Cycle-ending cleanup includes fryer boil outs, caustic cleanups, acid rinses, filling in for daily processing cleanup duties, and oil treatment tasks. 
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work across other Campus production facilities to clean all areas of respective packaging rooms, as needed.  
  • Demonstrate working knowledge—and be approved by Sanitation Leadership—in the following areas:   Lock Out Tag Out procedures and proper chemical disbursement   Safe handling of both mild and harsh chemicals   Operation of High Reach and Forklift with current license   Working on elevated surfaces, comfort with heights, and ability to lift 50 lbs   Certification to operate all can washers and boil out a minimum number of equipment pieces to support production cycle and cleanup  
  • Use air wands, high-pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, hand cleaning, squeegees, and motorized sweepers to maintain all surfaces and equipment  
  • Remove all waste and dispose of it in the appropriate container; return all tables, mats, hoses, and cleaning equipment to their proper positions  
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
