About The Position

SATCOM Engineer, Senior The Opportunity: A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable organizations to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in SATCOM to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. Your knowledge of equipment and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in SATCOM, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions. Requirements

  • Experience in all aspects of transmission, including modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and algorithms or protocols
  • Experience with supporting analysis of system performance, throughput, and response time, analysis of operational requirements, and system loading
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex SATCOM system issues
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience with tactical SATCOM integration engineering functions, or 15+ years of experience with tactical SATCOM integration engineering functions in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoD executive offices, program managers, or project managers
  • Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methods and processes to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems
  • Ability to analyze issues and propose appropriate resolutions
  • Ability to provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs
  • Ability to support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms, and access protocols
  • Ability to support design reviews and perform evaluations of satellite and terminal contractor designs
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others involved
  • Ability to effectively coordinate within and outside of the program management office
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
