About The Position

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in SATCOM to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. Your knowledge of equipment and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in SATCOM, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with tactical network software engineering functions or SATCOM
  • Experience with DoD executive offices, program managers, or project managers
  • Experience with conducting systems engineering evaluations of satellite, terminal designs, or tactical architectures
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methods and processes to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems
  • Knowledge of Military Standards (MIL-STDs) and certification processes
  • Knowledge of customer or vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design, and manufacturing processes
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in all aspects of transmission, including modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, algorithms, or protocols
  • Experience with participating in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems
  • Experience with supporting analysis of system performance, throughput, and response time, analysis of operational requirements, and system loading
  • Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts
  • Ability to provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs
  • Ability to support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms, and access protocols
  • Ability to support design reviews and perform evaluation of satellite and terminal contractor designs
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others involved
  • Ability to effectively coordinate within and outside of the program management office
