Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared SATCOM Specialist (NE) - Junior to support this mission at Pope Air Base, NC. Responsibilities: As a SATCOM Specialist (NE) - Junior, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include: Applies fundamental network engineering and SATCOM principles to assist in the technical analysis and optimization strategies for C2ISR SATCOM Transport Infrastructure. Supports the documentation of existing SATCOM network topologies, link budgets, and operational parameters for various ground-based gateways and command SATCOM assets. Assists in the configuration of network devices (e.g., routers, switches) to integrate with SATCOM modems and baseband equipment, verifying basic IP connectivity. Contributes to the development of network designs for specific SATCOM links, ensuring adherence to basic bandwidth requirements and latency constraints. Aids in the analysis of SATCOM waveform characteristics and modulation schemes to understand their impact on network performance. Performs basic network troubleshooting for SATCOM-related issues, such as IP address conflicts or VLAN misconfigurations on ground segment equipment, reporting findings. Works under direct supervision, focusing on executing routine network engineering tasks within the SATCOM domain and developing foundational knowledge of C2ISR SATCOM network integration. Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: EA frameworks (DoDAF, TOGAF, Digital Engineering); IaC (RH AAP, Helm, Rancher Fleet); system modeling (Cameo, Sparx, System Architect, Jira, wiki); requirements management (DOORS, Jama Connect); configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, CMDB);; service desk and ticketing (ServiceNow); network diagramming (Visio, Lucidchart); routing protocol simulators (BGP/MBGP/MSDP/BFD labs); cloud orchestration tools (Azure Arc, AWS Console, milCloud 2.0,, Grizzly Cloud 2.0,); SATCOM monitoring (L3 Harris SRVT, ViaSat portals); latency measurement (Wireshark, TS Reader); backup and disaster recovery (Veeam, Commvault).Elastic Stack, ACAS
Requirements
- Previous experience as a SATCOM Specialist (NE) or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a BS/BA or 0 years’ experience with a MS/MA supervisory/managerial experience or 6 years’ experience with no degree.
- A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
- US citizenship is required
- DoD 8140 role for WRC: 441; Element: IT; Work Role: Network Operations Specialist; Proficiency Level: Basic / Ability to obtain
Nice To Haves
- Must complete DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
