About The Position

The primary responsibility is maintaining the filing room equipment and repairing saws, knifes, and guides throughout the mill site. The Saw Filer will be required to use precision tools and troubleshooting skills to resolve mechanical or sawing problems that may occur. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $28.66.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Willing to attend and complete required training
Understanding of proper use of hand tools including precision alignment tools
Basic mechanical skills
Basic troubleshooting skills
Basic understanding of the use of oxygen acetylene torch
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Basic computer skills
This position is nights, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

comply with safety regulations, rules, policies, and practices for Safety
Troubleshoot, align machinery, and assist in maintaining mill equipment
Take ownership and be accountable for all work performed
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on filing room equipment
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
Ability to write and understand a work order
Perform housekeeping duties after each job is completed or as assigned
Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
