This job is full-time permanent.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 8 years experience in lumber manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Background in maintenance, preferably.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in high production mill a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key personnel.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure high production of quality goods in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Plan and oversee budgetary items, including fixed and variable costs.
  • Communication with log procurement to ensure adequate supply of logs to properly run the mill.
  • Monthly inventories for parts, logs, and lumber. Responsible for accurate inventory counts.
  • Provide leadership in all aspects to improve management’s desired results.
  • Work with all operators to verify machines are operating correctly and addresses problems and/or questions.
  • Review maintenance issues with Maintenance leadership, writes work orders as needed.
  • Set and maintain a high standard for housekeeping.
  • Ensure lumber from all machine centers is produced to quality standards.
  • Responsible for training and certification of employees for their job tasks.
