The location in Cross City, (Florida, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Sawmill Superintendent. This job is full-time permanent.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
8 years experience in lumber manufacturing.
Excellent communication skills.
Background in maintenance, preferably.
Must be proficient in MS Office.
Knowledge of quality control procedures.

Nice To Haves

Background in high production mill a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage key personnel.
Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Ensure high production of quality goods in a safe and efficient manner.
Plan and oversee budgetary items, including fixed and variable costs.
Communication with log procurement to ensure adequate supply of logs to properly run the mill.
Monthly inventories for parts, logs, and lumber. Responsible for accurate inventory counts.
Provide leadership in all aspects to improve management’s desired results.
Work with all operators to verify machines are operating correctly and addresses problems and/or questions.
Review maintenance issues with Maintenance leadership, writes work orders as needed.
Set and maintain a high standard for housekeeping.
Ensure lumber from all machine centers is produced to quality standards.
Responsible for training and certification of employees for their job tasks.
