Job Description Responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and administering Small Business Administration (SBA) construction and renovation loan transactions, ensuring compliance with SBA 7(a) and/or 504 program requirements, bank credit policy, and loan documentation standards. Protects the bank’s interest by overseeing construction loan documentation, lien perfection, and the analysis, approval, and administration of construction draw disbursements from loan approval through project completion and final servicing conversion. Construction loan activities support owner‑occupied small business projects, including new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and expansions for properties such as retail, office, industrial, mixed‑use, and special‑purpose facilities eligible under SBA guidelines. Residential exposure may include mixed‑use properties where permitted by SBA program rules. Works in close partnership with Relationship Managers, SBA Underwriters, and Loan Administrators, serving as the primary liaison with borrowers, attorneys, construction consultants, title companies, and SBA service providers throughout all phases of the construction and disbursement process. Ensures adherence to SBA authorization terms, eligibility requirements, use‑of‑proceeds limitations, and post‑approval conditions. Must meet requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typically two to three years of experience in commercial real estate loan administration, OR at least five years of transferable experience in commercial loan administration
  • Must meet requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of SBA lending programs (7(a) and/or 504), including construction, renovation, and leasehold improvement financing
  • Familiarity with SBA authorization terms, use‑of‑proceeds rules, lien and collateral requirements, and disbursement controls
  • Experience with construction draw administration, including budget review, third‑party inspections, lien waivers, and title updates
  • Basic knowledge of commercial lending concepts such as collateral structures, multi‑phase construction, and loans secured by multiple collateral properties
  • Technical expertise in loan closing, documentation review, and post‑closing loan management
  • Basic knowledge of commercial finance, lending law, documentation, accounting principles, and loan data systems
  • Ability to meet requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
