About The Position

As part of Intersect’s Engineering team, you’ll design and lead the control systems that enable our utility-scale clean energy assets to operate reliably, compliantly, and at peak performance. This role owns SCADA architecture, plant control integration, and grid compliance across ERCOT and other ISOs—ensuring our projects move seamlessly from construction through commissioning and into long-term operations. This role is planned to start in mid-Q1, with a training period of 4 weeks to reach full productivity by mid-Q2. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Asset Management, and external grid stakeholders to deliver high-performing, grid-compliant infrastructure that supports long-run value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in utility-scale power generation, independent power production, or clean energy infrastructure
  • Direct experience supporting large-scale power plants operating within ERCOT or similar nodal markets
  • Demonstrated expertise in SCADA system architecture design and review for utility-scale facilities
  • Hands-on experience with Power Plant Controller (PPC) integration, active/reactive power dispatch logic, Volt/VAR optimization, and frequency response controls
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and SEL-RTAC systems
  • Proven success leading grid compliance testing, telemetry validation, and commissioning activities
  • Strong working knowledge of ERCOT nodal protocols, TSP coordination, and grid interconnection requirements
  • Experience integrating SCADA systems with third-party optimization and performance management platforms
  • Ability to travel to project sites during construction and commissioning phases
  • Strong documentation discipline and configuration management practices
  • A detail-oriented, systems-focused mindset with the ability to lead troubleshooting efforts while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Calm, intellectually curious, and composed under pressure in high-stakes compliance environments
