About The Position

The Scheduler/Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production and material plans to support manufacturing operations while effectively leveraging external vendors. This role works cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, and external suppliers to ensure materials, components, and outsourced work are available on time to meet production schedules. The Scheduler/Planner does not execute purchasing transactions but provides critical planning inputs and coordination to support purchasing decisions.

  • Proficiency with NetSuite, Oracle, Priority and/or an aptitude for learning new ERP systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of management
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Approximately 5 years of planning experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience working with external vendors, suppliers, or contract manufacturers.
  • Must be US Person (per US government contracts)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance upon employment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around the office and production environment for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials, tools, or equipment that may exceed 25 lbs.
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks (e.g., using a computer, handling small parts).
  • Frequent exposure to noise, machinery, and manufacturing tools.
  • The work environment is generally fast-paced, and the employee may be required to shift between team collaboration, independent work, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Depending on the location and project needs, the employee may be required to wear PPE such as safety goggles, gloves, or hearing protection.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production, material, and capacity plans to support manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contract manufacturers to align lead times, delivery schedules, and production requirements.
  • Partner closely with the Purchasing team to communicate material requirements, forecast changes, and vendor performance insights.
  • Monitor inventory levels, demand forecasts, and production constraints to proactively identify risks and recommend adjustments.
  • Analyze demand, supply, and capacity data to support planning decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support new product introductions, changes, and issue resolution.
  • Track vendor commitments and production milestones, escalating risks or delays as needed.
  • Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems and ensure alignment between plans and execution.
