Military Fellowship Program: Scheduler
About The Position
SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Requirements
- Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
- Bachelor's Degree a related field and typically 2+ years of relevant experience
- Higher-level degree may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Understanding of basic manufacturing/production scheduling techniques
- Experience with scheduling software
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing and production scheduling techniques.
- Thorough understanding of forecasting, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), scheduling, and planning.
- Progressive experience with Material Management Systems and/or Manufacturing Systems
- Understanding of Program Management, Operations, and/or Supply Chain Management processes.
- Advanced analytical skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) Tools: Hands-on experience using ORTEMS or similar APS software for production scheduling and material planning.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex scheduling data and constraints, leveraging APS tools to optimize production schedules.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Familiarity with manufacturing workflows and processes, including material management systems and forecasting techniques, to effectively utilize APS tools.
- Continuous Improvement Focus: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvements using APS tools and implement changes that enhance efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, operations, and program management, to integrate APS-driven schedules into broader organizational goals.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military is a plus, as it ensures familiarity with the unique scheduling needs of these sectors.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfort with learning new software applications and implementing them in a production environment, particularly starting from scratch with APS tools like ORTEMS.
Responsibilities

- Monitor and report trends within specific indicators and drivers.
- Develop and lead continuous improvement plans and initiatives.
- Assist in managing work instructions.
