About The Position

The School-Based Outpatient Therapist is responsible for the ongoing provision of culturally responsive mental health services including individual and family therapy, case management, and consultation services for a caseload of youth and families at various public schools within the San Lorenzo school district. Therapists work in collaboration with the Special Education department and public-school employees to provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) to students who have qualified through their Individualized Education Program (IEP). This position requires travel to different school sites, with mileage reimbursement. About the UE Mosaic Program Seneca’s Unconditional Education Mosaic Program is a school-based therapy program in partnership with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services. We provide mental health services to K-12 public schools in Hayward, San Lorenzo, and New Haven Unified School Districts, helping youth on site and in their communities to overcome emotional and behavioral challenges in order to be successful at their public-school campus. Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology
  • Current California BBS or BOP Registration.
  • Experience working with diverse students and families including knowledge, experience, or familiarity with the needs and life circumstances of low-income communities.
  • Valid California Driver's License and insurability by Seneca's automobile insurance carrier.
  • Fulfillment of TB Test, fingerprinting, state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.

  • Bilingual Spanish/Spanish Language Capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with a trans-disciplinary team to implement academic, behavioral, and therapeutic services for students in need of intervention.
  • Provide individual, family therapy, and case management services based on the results of individualized clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with school and district partners to align treatment goals with needs identified in the IEP, to utilize the partnerships to provide comprehensive care, and to communicate updates and progress. This includes attending Individualized Education Program Meetings (IEPs) and other school team meetings.
  • Complete all reports and documentation required for each student as outlined in the paperwork guidelines including mental health notes, county documents, intake assessments, treatment goals, and progress monitoring, discharge, and all necessary paperwork for internal audits.
  • Attend program meetings, professional development, program meetings, San Lorenzo team meetings, program events, and all required in-service meetings.
