About The Position

ReGeneration Schools, founded in 2016, is a nationally ranked charter program with seven charter schools located in Illinois and Ohio. ReGeneration serves over 1800 students of whom 99% are minority and 86% are low income. U.S. News and World Report’s 2021 School Ranking listed all ReGeneration elementary schools among the top ten charter elementary schools in Illinois. ReGeneration expanded to Ohio in 2019, opening its Bond Hill campus in 2019. ReGeneration is expanding in Ohio adding two more campuses effective July 2023. We are seeking an experienced full-time Lead Custodian to join our Bond Hill (Cincinnati) campus. Under the Director of Operations' supervision, this individual is responsible for maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff, and the public. This individual will support and manage a team to perform extensive cleaning and custodial duties in the maintenance of the interior and exterior of the building.

Requirements

Knowledge of the basic methods of building cleaning and landscape maintenance.
Knowledge of basic building repairs and maintenance.
Safely operate power-driven equipment and hand tools.
Willingness to work long hours to successfully get the job done.
High expectations for personal and team performance.
Flexible to changing priorities and conditions.
Ability to perform physical tasks related to custodial work (lift up to 50 pounds).
1-4 years of custodial work experience in a school.
Successfully complete pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary point person for outside facilities and maintenance vendors
Perform a full scope of custodial and general maintenance duties.
Arranges furnishings and equipment for adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities, meals, and events.
Inspects school facilities to ensure that the school is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and identify necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.
Maintains supplies and equipment (e.g. cleaning solutions, paper products, restroom supplies, vacuums, mops, etc.).
Cleans school facilities (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, cafeterias, etc.).
Prepares facility for daily operations (e.g. opening gates, building access doors, disarming security systems, crosswalk signs, minor repairs, etc.).
Repairs basic facilities and equipment (e.g. ballasts, plumbing, furniture, fixtures, etc.) ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition.
Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, alarms, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
