Role It Takes A Village is seeking a dedicated and skilled Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be instrumental in ensuring our facilities are well-maintained, clean, and safe. Your work will support our mission by providing a welcoming and healthy environment conducive to learning and growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform physical tasks consistently and lift moderate weights.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications in workplace maintenance and safety are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks daily, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disposing of trash from designated areas within the school.
- Ensure that restrooms are clean, stocked with supplies (such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels), and in good working order.
- Handle minor maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs and repairing minor damages..
- Assist in setting up facilities for events, meetings, and various school activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage supply inventory and submit requests for new cleaning supplies as needed.
- Report any major repairs or safety concerns to the facility manager promptly.
- Positively engage with students, staff, and visitors, addressing their needs, responding to inquiries, and offering assistance to enhance their experience within the facility.
