School Psychologist Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND) Brighton, CO FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Dean of Student Services Work Days: Faculty Calendar, 2 Days, typical school day including professional development days/work days. Note: Position may be hired as a Full-Time at each location. ACAND= .4 for 2 days and if ACADC= .6 for 3 days Essential Functions Ensure the academic integrity of the school by overseeing the appropriateness of services and accommodations for students in specialized programming Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs Interpret assessment results and develop intervention strategies to support students' educational and personal development Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs Provide consultation to teachers, parents, and school staff on strategies to support student learning and behavior Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a positive school environment and promote students' mental health and well-being Serve as a resource for school staff on topics related to child development, mental health, and effective teaching strategies Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention for students facing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges Develop and implement individual or group interventions to address students' academic and behavioral difficulties Support students through transitions, including changes in grade level or family dynamics Development and implementation of school-wide programs to promote positive behavior and a safe and supportive school climate Participate in professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices in school psychology Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and consultations in compliance with federal, state, and school policies Assist in the preparation of reports required by the school or district administration Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace Perform other duties as assigned
