About The Position

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets. Position As a Scientist 1, Research Biology (Oncology) at Eikon you will be an essential part of an interdisciplinary team of highly creative and talented individuals with outstanding expertise in the Company’s core platform technologies and drug discovery processes. You will play a key role in contributing to Eikon’s pipeline and executing impactful biology studies for multiple drug discovery programs with a focus in oncology. You will be collaborating and working closely with a team of biologists, chemists, and engineering experts. Requirements

  • Ph.D. with no experience; or Master’s plus 10 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of relevant experience in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • Proficient in mammalian cell culture, cellular assays, and molecular biology, e.g., transfection, DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, gene knockdown or knockout, Western Blot,
  • Capacity for quantitative and/or statistical analysis using common software tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build open collaborative relationships is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with fluorescence imaging, luciferase reporter assay, cell viability assay for single-compound treatment or drug combinations, flow cytometry with or without automation and other high-throughput tools and instrumentation are all highly preferred.
  • Experience in oncology is desirable.
  • Experience in discovering, validating, and/or characterizing drug targets through genetic and/or pharmacological approaches is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly culture various mammalian cell lines and generate important reporter or mutant cell lines to facilitate drug discovery effort.
  • Independently develop, optimize, and execute various cell-based experiments for target validation, screening campaigns, and compounds MoA to support drug discovery programs.
  • Keep detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results.
  • Collaborate and communicate across a diverse interdisciplinary research team.
  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and manage diverse team interactions.
