About The Position

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Screw Machine Operator - 2nd shift. The core hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm Monday through Friday. The hourly rate for this position is 21.71 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you'll do: Responsible for directing, assisting, and leading a group of employees performing various machining operations. Ensures workflow efficiency, quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols. Performs minor machine adjustments and supports production continuity.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in machining operations.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments and maintaining tolerances.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform threading, grooving, chamfering, turning, tapping, reaming, serrating, boring, facing, drilling, and similar operations on departmental conventional machines excluding hand turret.
  • Produce a variety of parts from a variety of materials.
  • Make minor tooling adjustments and resets to maintain specified dimensions.
  • Inspect first pieces and verify machine setup before releasing to operators.
  • Adhere to machine safety procedures.
  • Operate Single and Multi-Spindle Drill Presses and other conventional machines.
  • Load castings and bar stock to maintain continuous machine operation.
  • Wash and pack plated parts to support machine cycles.
  • Use measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, verniers, scales) to verify part accuracy.
  • Detect and report faulty operations or materials.
  • Operate fork truck and hand trucks to move materials.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Perform TPM activities including cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and tightening of bolts.
  • Perform base clean outs as needed.
