About The Position

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) as a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Optical Systems Configuration Manager to the Sensors Branch of the Combat Forces Command, Mission Delta 2 – 2nd Sustainment Squadron (CFC MD2/2 STS). This is a full-time position at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, CO. SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and act as force multipliers in times of conflict. Odyssey Systems is looking for high-performing, passionate people ready to make a difference by joining our existing team of dedicated professionals in the SDA workforce! The MD2/2 STS Sensors Branch executes system acquisition, modernization, and sustainment for ground- and space-based SDA sensors and command and control (C2) systems. Activities include acquisition program management, system and subsystem engineering, maintenance and supply support, and fielding. Odyssey Systems provides Advisory and Assistance Services to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with MD2/2 STS depot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders. This is a full-time position at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, CO with an opportunity for remote work 1-2 days per week at the discretion of the Government.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance, eligible for TS/SCI
  • High School Diploma
  • 12 years of directly relevant experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD, OR,
  • BA/BS degree and 5 years of experience in Configuration Management or Configuration Control, 3 of which must be in the DoD, OR,
  • MA/MS degree and 3 years of experience in Configuration Management or Configuration Control, 2 of which must be in the DoD.
  • Physical Configuration Audits may require individual to be able to lift up to 35 lbs, stand and walk for long periods of time, and climb ladders on occasion.
  • Experience developing Configuration Management processes to establish hardware and software baselines for complex systems.
  • Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, like Aras Innovator, and databases to maintain hardware and software baselines for complex systems.
  • An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation.
  • Configuration Management experience within the Department of Defense.
  • Experience performing HW and SW configuration audits.
  • Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, and media labeling.
  • An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation.
  • Experience developing briefings for management.
  • Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to enter and manipulate data in a database.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, agreeable to polygraph
  • CMII Certification or equivalent
  • Highly proficient user experience with Aras Innovator or a similar Product Lifecycle Management tool.
  • Knowledge of or experience with the Space Surveillance Network, its systems and mission.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Previous experience as an A&AS contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Industry Standard EIA-649, Configuration Management, EIA-649-1, CM Requirements for Defense Contracts, and MIL-HDBK-61, CM Guidance, and familiar with GEIA-859, Data Management.
  • Provide CM of all relevant program artifacts / acquisition documentation.
  • Review and analyze the Development/Sustainment Contractor’s CM program and data deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Manage and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) / review board processes for Program Office, including planning, minutes, and actions.
  • Assist the Government in developing and administering configuration management plans and Charters; maintaining design traceability and integrity; convening and managing change boards; and preparing for and attending major events such as, but not limited to, TIMs, PDRs, CDRs, PCAs, FCAs, and CCBs.
  • Identify CM/DM requirements in program SOW and PWS.
  • Provide CM/DM input into program documentation.
  • Participate in cross-functional change control boards to evaluate proposed changes.
  • Ability to train on and use the Aras Innovator tool and support the required workflows.
  • Review and analyze proposed changes to ensure operational and sustainment capabilities are not adversely affected by the changes.
  • Support Engineering Assessments and prepare for, conduct, and/or support major audits such as Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) and Functional Configuration Audits (FCA).
  • Record and maintain assessment and audit findings, minutes, and action items
  • Review, report, and analyze the Development/Sustainment Contractor’s data/item delivery status and conformance to CDRL requirements.
  • Work closely with program management, systems engineers, and product support specialists in an integrated product team environment.
  • Maintain design traceability and integrity.
  • Manage configurations of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and plan/conduct design audits. The contractor must have skills and experience necessary to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment.
  • Maintain a variety of electronic files and websites utilizing web-based applications.
  • Ability to track program AF Form 1067s, Deficiency Reports, and other system change forms/processes.
  • Ensure integrity of the baseline including major releases, minor releases, patches, and software maintenance.
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction.
  • Other duties as required/requested by the Government within the constraints of the S3 contract.
