About The Position

Join the AI Platform team as a Software Engineer (L62) in Brazil, building and scaling the API layer for OpenAI models. Work with top engineers globally on cutting-edge AI services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of experience developing production software in Python and/or C#.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, debugging, and logging in distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration (preferably AKS).
• Ability to leverage AI tools for coding and problem-solving.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Familiarity with OpenAI models and APIs.
• Exposure to content moderation, code execution, or image/video processing services.
• Experience working in global, cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core API services (Response API, Completion API, Content Moderation Proxy, MCP, Code Interpreter).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize distributed services running in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Collaborate with engineers across Japan, US, and Brazil to deliver reliable, scalable AI solutions.
• Implement robust logging and monitoring for production-grade systems.
• Leverage AI tools for coding, automation, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and supporting high-availability cloud services.
