The NCDAC Support Services Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is seeking an energetic and collaborative SE&R Field Engineer (Engineer I) to join the DECM–Maintenance Operations Team. This position is based at the DECM-Maintenance Operations Complex in Raleigh, NC. The role is responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all Sustainability, Efficiency, and Resilience (SE&R) systems, including HVAC building automation systems (BAS), water management systems (WMS), and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing metering systems that support energy conservation and efficient resource use. The successful candidate will provide technical support to regional and institutional maintenance staff in commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex electronic metering systems used throughout Department of Adult Correction facilities. Responsibilities include installing and commissioning new HVAC BAS, WMS, and electrical metering/monitoring systems in accordance with applicable building codes and standards—such as tasks involving conduit and raceway installation, wire pulling, device installation, and system startups. The role also includes maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing existing systems; completing work orders; and managing requisitions, direct billing, and P-card documentation for materials and supplies related to SE&R systems.
