About The Position

Sealing Supervisor Plant City, FL Schedule: 3rd shift 11 PM-07:00 AM Monday-Friday 8-hours Compensation Includes Starting pay rate $30.63/hour Purpose of the job: Responsible for leading hourly team members on shift in order to meet the safety, environmental compliance, quality, scrap minimization and productivity, as well as to meet customer delivery dates. This Team Leader position is a preferred precursor to further manufacturing leadership assignments up through and including Plant Manager. The position has direct responsibility for building, documenting and implementing standard work certification processes and other elements of Work System Enhancements (WSE); has direct and meaningful impact on the systems and frameworks through which our team members work and make business decisions. This position is also responsible overseeing team member training, enforcing all rules, policies and procedures recommending disciplinary action when required, verifying and approving work hours and pay rates utilizing Kronos timekeeping systems.

  • Standing 8-12 hours per shift all day, every day on concrete.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs frequently when loading corrugated all day, every day.
  • Pinch grip strength to lift handfuls of corrugated paper all day, every day.
  • Bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching all day, every day.
  • Making machine adjustments in awkward positions with twisting four to five times a day.
  • Using wrenches to tighten and loosen bolts in awkward postures four to five times a day.
  • Pushing a load once or twice a day.
  • Placing up to 50lbs load to floor level 20 to 45 times a day or as needed.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs load from floor level 5 to 20 times day or as needed.
  • Restacking pallets of 48lbs cases from floor to above shoulder height two to three times day or as needed.
  • Moving wooden pallets four to five times a day.
  • Climbing vertical ladders up to 16 feet from ground to platform 10 to 15 times a day.
  • Crouching for 2-5 min., un-jamming equipment 20 to 30 times a day.
  • Pulling and pushing with force four to five times a day.
  • Pulling hand pallet jacks two and three times a day.
  • Lifting rollers to change belts up to 60lbs in awkward position two to three times a day.
  • The team member is required to be able to perform the above tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Flexographic or Process Printing preferred
  • Experience in Paper Converting Process preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all team members are knowledgeable of and adhere to Pactiv Evergreen safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
  • Organize, manage, and direct the activities of team members assigned on shift to meet production goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Verify and approve work hours and pay rates utilizing the Kronos timekeeping systems.
  • Responsible for effective team member relations. Provides team member coaching and development. Resolve team member issues through problem resolution. Ensure hourly team members have proper training and tools to meet department goals
  • Meet production goals by balancing quality, productivity, performance, cost, safety, environmental, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of the department.
  • Work with other departments, shifts and direct reports to achieve team attitude among crews and peers
  • Check work areas for safety hazards; conduct weekly safety meetings with department team members.
  • Communicate the status of orders schedule
  • Organize departmental clean-ups
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance Manager concerning all issues affecting quality (side seams, skiving issues, mixed loads, etc.).
  • Provide products and services that consistently meet the mutually agreed upon specifications of both our internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that all requirements of the SQF Code are being administered and adhered to.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems that ensure procedures and processes are in place to provide products that meet manufacturing specifications and customer requirements; provide tools for educating team members on quality standards and specifications for packaging; standardize quality test procedures and interpretation of results throughout the division; create a foundation and mechanism for process monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Involve team members in continuously improving the quality of our products and services, and the efficiency of operations and staff activities throughout the business.
  • Leading quality improvement activities within their respective organizations.
  • Responsible for assuring that the products produced within each manufacturing facility are safe and comply with all applicable federal, state, and international laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Responsible for compliance with and adherence to all established good manufacturing practices, food safety plans and all applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Responsible for completing OS2-PLC-FRM-0004 Sealing Process Leader daily Verification of Monitoring Activities form to verify compliance with GMP and food safety plan procedures.
