About The Position

The Seamstress/Tailor is responsible for overseeing the company’s uniform program to ensure all employees are provided with properly fitted, professional garments that align with brand standards. This role includes performing garment alterations, managing uniform inventory, coordinating issuance and returns, and delivering exceptional service to colleagues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in tailoring techniques, and committed to maintaining a polished and consistent appearance across the organization.
Requirements
- Must have prior knowledge of position/industry--3-5 years previous experience as a seamstress or tailor, in same or related field.
- Work requires moderate mental concentration to execute moderately complex tasks.
- Colleaue will work first shift or a daytime schedule.
- Colleague will work in an office or temperature-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Uniform Fitting & Alteration: Communicate with colleagues to understand their uniform needs and provide professional fitting and tailoring recommendations.
- Conduct uniform fittings by appointment to ensure proper fit, comfort, and consistent presentation.
- Perform alterations, including hemming, adjusting seams, and modifying sleeve and pant lengths.
- Complete minor repairs to extend the life of garments and maintain a polished, professional appearance.
- Perform quality checks on all finished uniforms to ensure accuracy and high standards of craftsmanship.
- Operate and maintain tailoring tools and equipment such as industrial sewing machines, sergers, steam irons, and hand-sewing tools.
- Inventory Management & Distribution: Issue and exchange uniforms for new and existing colleagues, maintaining accurate records of distribution, sizes, and inventory levels.
- Monitor and manage uniform stock levels, coordinating with management, warehouse, and purchasing to reorder items as needed.
- Maintain an organized and efficient workspace, including proper storage of materials, tools, and uniform inventory.
