A fantastic summer job and great opportunity is available for candidates wishing to sample a career in park and street maintenance. The Seasonal Public Works Laborer performs maintenance operations on the City's park properties and operates light equipment, such as mowers and weed whips. You will gain experience in maintenance of grounds, parks, athletic facilities, streets, and trails as well as management of natural resources. This is a 40 hours per week position. Possible opportunity for additional hours as well. Candidates must be at least 16 years old, high school student, graduate or equivalent, and must have a valid driver's license and good driving record if 18 years of age or older. If you are in high school or college, this position will begin after the end of your school year. The expected starting pay is $18.00 per hour. (The 2026 salary range for this position is $18-$24 per hour). Seasonal and part-time employees performing work for at least 80 hours in a year for the City are eligible for Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST). ESST is paid at the same hourly rate that an employee is paid from employment with the City. ESST will accrue at a rate of one hour per 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours of ESST per year.
