Seasonal Public Works Worker
About The Position
The City of Blair is accepting applications for Seasonal Public Works Workers to support operations across three divisions: Streets, Utilities, and Parks. Position Overview This hands-on, outdoor position assists with maintaining city infrastructure and public spaces. Openings are available in the following areas: Streets Division – street and sidewalk maintenance, traffic control, and right-of-way work Utilities Division – water, sewer, and stormwater system maintenance Parks Division – parks, athletic fields, landscaping, and facility upkeep Applicants may be assigned to one or more areas depending on operational needs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Valid driver's license preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Nice To Haves
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or maintenance is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform general labor for street, utility, and park maintenance
- Mow, trim, and maintain parks and landscaped areas
- Assist with water, sewer, and stormwater system upkeep
- Support street maintenance including patching and basic repairs
- Help with event setup for community activities
- Operate tools, equipment, and city vehicles
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities, tools, and equipment
