The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position of Seasonal Recreational Facility Supervisor IV, Pool and Waterfront Safety (PWS) Coordinator in South Region. Under the direction of Bureau of Pool & Waterfront Safety and Regional PWS Manger, plans, administers, and coordinates DCR’s extensive aquatic program for an assigned Region, while simultaneously supporting program implementation across all regions through participation in work groups, committee assignments and mutual support. The RFS IV is responsible for the initiation and implementation of Bureau programs and services at both guarded and unguarded Designated Swimming Areas (DSAs) and swimming pool facilities within the assigned region. This position works closely with Bureau staff to conduct outreach and recruitment efforts designed to attract and maintain an adequate number of certified and qualified seasonal lifeguards, instructors, facility supervisors and other staff necessary for the safe operation of DCR pools and beaches. Recommends staffing levels and adjustments to work schedules to assure visitors and patrons the safest possible aquatic recreational opportunity; and implements recreational programming in the communities served through direct supervision of PWS RFS III and RFS II staff within the Region. The RFS IV ensures that all applicable Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations and DCR standards for the operation of DSAs and swimming pools are being met and/or exceeded as they relate to safety and customer service for the assigned Region.
