About The Position

The Seasonal Summer Laborer assists in the daily operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the wastewater treatment facility and surrounding grounds. This position provides hands-on support to plant operators and maintenance staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations during peak seasonal demands.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled) preferred
• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Comfortable working around water, odors, and wastewater treatment processes
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and inclement weather

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks including cleaning, painting, mowing, trimming, and facility upkeep
• Assist with routine maintenance of equipment, tanks, and treatment systems
• Remove debris, sludge, and waste materials as directed
• Support plant operators with inspections and basic operational tasks
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
• Follow all safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Report equipment issues, hazards, or safety concerns to supervisors
• Assist with minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
