About The Position

Perform detailed reviews of retail mortgage loans recommended for denial to ensure the loan does not meet investor/insurer (e.g. FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA, USDA) and/or TRUIST guidelines. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Seven years of mortgage loan origination experience
  • Strong knowledge of all investor/insurer and regulatory guidelines, applicable laws, and company audit policies and procedures
  • Work in a deadline driven environment
  • Effectively interact with management and internal partners
  • Exhibit a keen attention to detail and the ability to quickly comprehend information
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of complex personal and business tax returns, cash flow analysis, and documentation utilized in complex lending situations

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Strong Coaching Skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed underwriting analysis of retail mortgage loans that have been recommended for denial ensuring the recommendation is accurate and the loan does not meet requirements for approval.
  • Complete data entry in LOS (Loan Origination System) for denial codes, ensuring accuracy of information reflected on Adverse Action Notices.
  • Assist with review of current desktop procedures for processes in which reviews are performed.
  • Provide coaching to internal partners regarding best practices and requirements as outlined in policies & procedures
  • Provide timely responses and documentation for any Retail and Compliance review findings on loans that were Adversed.
