About The Position

The Southeast Arkansas Community Based Education Center (SEACBEC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Secondary Career Center Instructor in the Digital Technology Computer Science Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway . The instructor will teach courses such as Information Technology, Networking, Cybersecurity, Programming/Coding, and Engineering Technology. Courses may offer concurrent college credit and align with high-wage, high-demand workforce programs while also meeting Arkansas high school graduation credit requirements. Position Overview The instructor will provide hands-on instruction in computer science and information technology for high school technical students in a classroom and lab environment, emphasizing workforce readiness, postsecondary preparation, and industry certifications. The selected candidate will be employed by the Warren School District and will receive district benefits while operating under district policies and procedures. Position status (full-time or part-time) will depend on student enrollment.

Requirements

  • Arkansas Department of Education licensure requirements for CTE Computer Science instruction.
  • High school diploma required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Four (4) years of related industry experience OR a degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Ability to obtain an Arkansas Educator License (Provisional or Standard)
  • Applicants must qualify for one of the following Arkansas Computer Science licensure areas: 5013 – Computer Science Classified Permit 5014 – Computer Science Permit 5016 – Computer Sciences 528 – Computer Science
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Obtain or maintain appropriate Arkansas Educator Licensure
  • Meet all Arkansas Division of Career and Technical Education requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction in Computer Science, Networking, Cybersecurity, Programming/Coding, and Digital Technology
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance in accordance with district and ADE requirements
  • Manage a technology-based classroom/laboratory environment
  • Provide instruction aligned with Arkansas CTE standards and industry expectations
  • Prepare students for industry certifications and concurrent credit opportunities
  • Maintain safe and effective lab practices
  • Collaborate with partner school districts and regional community/industry organizations
  • Support student participation in career readiness and CTSO activities (e.g., SkillsUSA)
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality in all student matters
