About The Position

We are seeking a collaborative and forward-looking analytic leader to serve as Section Supervisor for Future Concepts & Technology Policy Analysis section within the Strategic Analysis and Integration Group (JAI) of the National Security Analysis Department (NSAD). This role leads a multidisciplinary section focused on understanding how emerging technologies may change what missions are possible and how policy plays a role in their adoption. The section uses data-driven methods to conduct forecasting and future scenario development—often in collaboration with the Adversary and Intel Analysis Section—to assess future concepts and capabilities in the context of operational and institutional realities. They conduct net assessments to examine the impact of new technologies and capabilities on strategic considerations such as resilience, deterrence and escalation dynamics. The team will increasingly use AI-enabled tools to support synthesis needed to conduct analyses. The Section Supervisor will oversee and develop analysts who conduct future scenario development, technology and capability analysis, and policy-informed strategic assessments. This role integrates data-driven analysis with creative, forward thinking, and requires close collaboration across other NSAD teams. The supervisor will play a critical role in advancing data-informed approaches, ensuring the team can reason with incomplete data and appropriately bound uncertainty to execute the analyses.
