About The Position

As a Security Officer - Lobby Screener in Decatur, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet employees and visitors, screen entries, verify credentials, and support access control and other security-related procedures. You will stay highly visible, communicate clearly, and document observations while partnering with site teams to help reduce incidents and keep operations moving. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, visitors, vendors and drivers for authorized entry using approved access control methods, including checking identification and/or credentials and maintaining visitor logs.
• Support logistics and distribution operations by monitoring inbound and outbound traffic at entrances, shipping and receiving areas and gate points, and reporting irregular activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the chain of command as needed.
• Complete required reports and documentation such as incident reports, access control records and shift activity logs, and communicate key information to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts.
