About The Position

The Security Engineer II is a mid-level role responsible for designing, building, and integrating enterprise security platforms across hybrid infrastructures. This role requires prior experience in security operations engineering and system security administration, focusing on the delivery of secure platform architectures, security tool integrations, and secure system baselines. Additionally, this role is responsible for independently managing, configuring, and improving enterprise security systems and supporting secure infrastructure operations. This intermediate-level professional generally works independently under moderate supervision and may seek advice of more senior employees in the same area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-4 years of work-related experience.
  • Required certifications: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent platform security certifications.
  • CompTIA CySA+ or Microsoft Security Administrator Associate.
  • Vendor certifications in SailPoint, BeyondTrust, Tenable, CrowdStrike, or related security platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, documents, and oversees the configuration of enterprise security platforms including identity governance, privileged access management, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Independently configures and maintains security platforms including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, privileged access, and identity platforms.
  • Implements platform updates, troubleshoots issues, and optimizes performance of security technologies.
  • Oversees enterprise patching schedules and validates patch deployments across server, endpoint, and cloud workloads.
  • Assists in ongoing platform health monitoring and configuration drift detection.
  • Designs and implements approved architecture patterns to deliver secure platform integrations and system build standards.
  • Develops and maintains secure system build templates for servers, applications, middleware, and cloud services.
  • Reviews and tailors hardening standards based on NIST, CIS, and organizational security baselines fitting of the organization and its data.
  • Assists in system integration planning, platform deployment testing, and cutover execution activities.
  • Designs and develops automation scripts for platform configuration management, vulnerability remediation tracking, and audit reporting.
  • Integrates platform APIs into CI/CD pipelines, identity platforms, and cloud native control sets.
  • Supports platform integration into configuration management pipelines to enforce continuous compliance.
  • Communicates with employees both within and outside the team, explaining and interpreting matters related to the department; may communicate with external clients or partners depending upon the job function/division.
  • Responsible for making moderate improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of the team.
