Job Description As a Security Guard - Badge Desk Driver in Sulphur, LA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location supporting access control and badge operations. You will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, log visitors and deliveries, and conduct routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Bring strong communication and customer service while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Must have 1+ years' law enforcement experience or 2+ years' security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years' security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying credentials, processing visitors, issuing temporary badges as directed, and maintaining required logs and reports.
  • Screen incoming and outgoing vehicle and pedestrian traffic as required, including checking deliveries, verifying appointments and/or work authorizations, and coordinating with site contacts for entry approval.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site personnel and/or public emergency services as needed and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around operational areas, administrative spaces, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations, and report findings per post orders.
