Security Guard - Driver Gate Check Officer

As a Security Guard - Driver Gate Check Officer in New Albany, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, greet employees and visitors, and document activity with clear communication. You will support a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents while partnering closely with site teams in a culture built on integrity, teamwork, and innovation. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing authorized individuals to the appropriate location.
- Control entry and exit at gates, lobbies, and restricted areas by operating access control systems, issuing temporary badges, maintaining visitor logs, and documenting access-related activity per policy.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching notifications, coordinating with site contacts, and supporting emergency response activities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around utility operations areas and the perimeter, observing for unusual conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access and/or damage, and reporting findings per procedure.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and communication systems as assigned, complete required reports, and communicate security-related information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
