Job Description As a Security Officer - Medical Evaluation Center with DJJ in Ridgeville, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location in an access control role where you help manage entry points, check identification, track visitors, and monitor security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will remain visible, communicate clearly, document incidents, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent, professional presence and customer service. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
As a condition of employment, you must meet COLA DPSS/DHS requirements including a tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations.
A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or residents by following site-specific security-related procedures and access control policies.
Control entry and exit points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs, and directing foot and vehicle traffic as needed.
Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or access control systems; report irregular activity and complete clear, timely documentation per post orders.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
Conduct security-related patrols and inspections of entrances, common areas, and perimeter points when assigned, noting hazards, unsecured doors, and/or policy concerns.
