Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor sign-in and/or badges, and directing authorized personnel to the appropriate areas.
  • Monitor access control points, alarms, and/or CCTV as assigned, and document security-related activity in logs and reports per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
