As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit, and track activity using site systems. You will stay visible at key checkpoints, communicate clearly with warehouse teams, and help to deter security-related incidents through consistent procedures. You will bring an agile, reliable, and innovative mindset, supporting a caring, people-first culture built on teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of security experience is required.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control entry and exit at gates, guard shacks, and/or lobbies by checking identification, verifying appointments, issuing visitor credentials, and directing drivers and guests to the correct dock or office area.
• Monitor inbound and outbound truck traffic by coordinating with receiving and shipping teams, confirming load documentation as required, and reporting irregularities per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and assisting with traffic control during disruptions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of parking areas, dock lanes, staging areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and identify maintenance, access, and/or procedural concerns.
