About The Position

As a Security Guard - Interior Patrol Rounds in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Patrol Unarmed Officer at a government location serving the public, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering welcoming customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff, residents, and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities for a government facility.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and document visitor traffic in accordance with location procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and coordination with site management and/or public emergency services as directed.
  • Prepare detailed reports of observations, incidents, and actions taken, and communicate security-related information to supervisors and site representatives.
