As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, greet associates and visitors, and document activity with clear, professional communication. You will conduct visible rounds and respond to security-related concerns while supporting smooth operations and a positive customer experience. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing temporary badges where authorized, and maintaining visitor, employee, and contractor logs.
  • Screen and process inbound and outbound vehicle traffic, coordinating with site contacts on dock appointments, delivery pickups, and restricted-area access in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, monitoring gates, dock areas, and common spaces for unusual activity, potential policy violations, and/or hazards.
