Job Description As a Security Guard - On-Foot Surveillance near Grand Central , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will support a professional location by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and monitoring assigned areas for unusual activity. You will also assist with access points and visitor interactions, delivering clear communication and customer service. You will be part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and reporting concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy violations.
- Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor access points as assigned, including verifying authorization, observing visitor activity, and/or supporting orderly entry and exit consistent with site requirements.
- Complete required shift activity reports, incident reports, and/or other documentation using site-approved systems and communication methods.
