As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with campus partners and/or responders, and deliver standout customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating updates to site leadership and/or local emergency partners as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of campus buildings, common areas, residence areas as assigned, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with access control activities such as verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor check-in, and directing people to appropriate locations per site policy.
• Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and report maintenance issues such as lighting outages, unsecured doors, and/or damaged property through established channels.
