As a Front Desk Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting a professional, people-first experience. You will help manage access control and badge activity, monitor entry points, and respond to requests with clear communication and calm customer service. Using a computer or tablet, you will document security-related activity and collaborate with a reliable, agile team that acts with integrity. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.95 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 01:00 PM - 07:00 PM Tue 01:00 PM - 07:00 PM Wed 01:00 PM - 07:00 PM

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Have customer service experience is preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an education location front desk.
  • Control access at the main entrance by verifying identification, managing visitor sign-in, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and directing guests to appropriate destinations.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems from the front desk and report irregular activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns per site instructions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete shift logs and incident documentation, answer phones and radios, and communicate policy reminders to staff, students, and visitors in a professional manner.
