As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control points, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and document observations using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Having customer service experience is preferred.
  • Having a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate contacts and completing required documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, substations and perimeter areas, noting irregular conditions and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials as required, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or restricted-area access.
  • Complete daily activity logs, incident reports and shift handoffs using Allied Universal reporting tools, following chain-of-command communication guidelines.
