About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol in Tuscaloosa, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and promptly reporting concerns through established channels.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy violations.
• Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization as required, and directing individuals to the appropriate destinations.
• Complete required documentation such as shift activity reports and incident reports, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions to support continuity of security-related operations.
