As a Security Guard - Unarmed - Warehouse Setting in University Park, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will engage with employees and visitors through clear communication and customer service, report concerns, and support site procedures with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials for employees, contractors, and visitors, and maintain visitor logs and/or badge processes in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to alarms, calls for service, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
• Document security-related observations, incidents, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate notable conditions to supervisors and site leadership.
