About The Position

Position Overview The Security Guard role is a full-time, hourly position focused on providing a safe and secure environment during evening hours. The role involves maintaining a visible security presence on church property to protect people, facilities, and assets while supporting the overall mission of Mercy Culture Church.

Requirements

  • A valid Level 3 Security License (Commissioned Security Officer) is preferred
  • We are willing to provide training and support for qualified candidates who do not yet possess this license but are committed to obtaining it
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent observation skills, strong communication abilities, and a calm demeanor under pressure
  • Physically capable of performing patrols, standing for extended periods, and responding to incidents
  • Clean criminal background check and ability to pass any required screening
  • All Staff and Leaders of Mercy Culture Church must agree and be willing to abide by our beliefs, Cultural Elements and Standards of Leadership of the church.
  • To be employed at Mercy Culture Church, you must be a member of the church or be willing to become a member upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Secure church property by conducting regular patrols of the campus and facilities during assigned evening shifts
  • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and buildings to deter unauthorized access and ensure safety
  • Respond appropriately to any security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies that may arise
  • Maintain a professional and visible security presence to promote the safety of staff, volunteers, attendees, and visitors
  • Report any suspicious activity, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to church leadership or designated personnel
  • Assist with crowd management, access control, and other security-related tasks as needed during evening events or services
  • Adhere to all church policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Participate in weekly staff and prayer meetings, in person or virtually, to stay connected, spiritually engaged, and aligned with the heart, culture, and direction of the church.
