About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Entry Level Security Guard. The position requires the person to: Monitor premises, patrolling (by foot or by car) designated areas and ensuring safety of people and property. Review credentials and verify visitors or people wanting access to buildings are intended guests. Respond to alarms at designated locations and report incidents to authorities when necessary. Operate and monitor cameras / closed circuit television covering multiple locations / buildings. Maintain and monitor building equipment controls. Complete daily activity report of building activities. Maintain punctual attendance according to an assigned work schedule at a Company-approved work location. Remain in a stationary position for a constant period of time. Frequently communicate with individuals inside and outside the Company to exchange accurate information. Frequently operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a photocopier, telephone, and computer printer. Occasionally move about inside the office to collaborate with co-workers, attend meetings, and operate office equipment. May need to leave post to investigate a situation within a building or on Auto-Owners property.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent related work experience.
• Ability to assemble information, develop opinions, and clearly express decisions using sound reasoning and judgment.
• Ability to process and handle stressful situations.
• Ability to communicate, both oral and written, in a positive and friendly manner with associates, guests and vendors.
• Ability to understand and carry out complex instructions.
• Ability to organize and execute assigned work.
• Ability to exhibit basic computer skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentially and data security.
