Job Description Now Interviewing for Part Time Security Officers! Working in conjunction with a Metropolitan Transit Task Force and our client security teams. MetroLink security professionals provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system, station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region. Customer service skills are a high priority. This is an outdoor posted position. Duties will include post security until relieved.

Requirements

  • 1 year Security Experience
  • Computer Literacy
  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to Lift 20+ Pounds
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Being able to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, public areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verifying identification and/or authorization in accordance with site procedures.
  • Document and report observations, incidents, and irregular conditions using required reports and communication methods, and assist with follow-up as directed by site leadership.
