About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant environment for guests, team members, and property assets. This role performs proactive patrols, enforces company policies and procedures, responds to incidents and emergencies, and supports safety and OSHA compliance initiatives across the property. Security Officers serve as visible ambassadors of safety, guest service, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Valid California Driver’s license.
  • Strong observational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • High school level math.
  • Ability to apply common sense, understands any instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to quickly assess issues and provide solid solutions.
  • Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.
  • Must have a Valid California Driver's license and must be able to be insured by the company's insurance carrier.
  • RBS (Responsible Beverage Services) certification as trained at Rolling Hills Casino
  • Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
  • Must successfully complete first aid/CPR training provided by Rolling Hills Casino Security.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, or hear.
  • The employee is constantly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to briskly walk across uneven surfaces, ascend and descend stairs/slopes, and perform CPR duties.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in casino security, hospitality security, law enforcement, or military (recommended)
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification (recommended)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine patrols of the casino floor, hotel, parking areas, event venues, and back-of-house areas to deter theft, vandalism, and unsafe conditions.
  • Enforce property rules, gaming regulations, and company policies professionally and consistently.
  • Monitor surveillance feeds and alarm systems when assigned and report suspicious activity.
  • Control access to restricted and secured areas, including credential verification and bag/backpack enforcement as applicable.
  • Respond to disturbances, guest complaints, trespassers, and policy violations using de-escalation techniques.
  • Complete accurate, timely, and detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and safety documentation.
  • Preserve evidence and maintain chain-of-custody procedures when required.
  • Communicate critical incidents to supervisors and management promptly.
  • Provide courteous, professional assistance to guests and team members.
  • Serve as a visible presence that promotes safety, confidence, and positive guest experience.
  • Handle sensitive situations with discretion, professionalism, and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality of security, safety, and guest information.
  • Required to learn and promote marketing promotions.
  • Conducts shuttle transport.
  • Provides security for events.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism and ethical business conduct.
  • Must adhere to Minimum Internal Control Standards 25 CFR 542.
  • Actively identify, report, and correct safety hazards to reduce risk of injury or property damage.
  • Support OSHA compliance efforts by observing workplace practices and reporting unsafe behaviors or conditions.
  • Participate in safety inspections, safety walks, and hazard assessments as assigned.
  • Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and documentation related to workplace injuries or safety concerns.
  • Support emergency preparedness programs, including fire safety, medical response, evacuation procedures, and severe weather protocols.
  • Promote a culture of safety by modeling safe behavior and encouraging compliance among team members and guests.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, and incidents; provide first aid/CPR/AED assistance when trained.
  • Coordinate with local emergency services (EMS, fire, law enforcement) during incidents.
  • Assist with crowd control, scene security, and emergency communications.
  • Follow established incident command and emergency response procedures.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as required.
