As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries and public spaces, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help deter incidents, and support guests with clear communication and courteous service. You will document security-related activity, respond to concerns, and partner with site teams. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and Allied Universal post orders at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, exhibit spaces, offices, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or damage to property.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or other security-related systems as assigned, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Support crowd and line management during public hours and special events, providing directions and de-escalation when needed while maintaining a professional presence.
